HOW TRELEGY WORKS

Breathing easier, explained

The power of 3 medicines in 1 inhaler

Each of the 3 different long-acting medicines in once-daily TRELEGY has a distinct role. Let’s take a closer look inside the lungs to see how they work together to help make breathing easier and improve lung function for a full 24 hours. In studies, patients taking TRELEGY had improved lung function vs patients taking 2 of TRELEGY's 3 medicines. Your results may vary.

ANNOUNCER:
When you breathe in, air flows into your nose or mouth, through your throat, and down into your lungs.

Inside your lungs, there’s a system of airways that branch into thousands of smaller airways. Let’s take a closer look inside one of these many airways.

In healthy lungs, air flows in and out of the airways without any issue. But if you’re living with COPD or asthma, breathing can be a lot more difficult. That’s because, over time, your airways can become inflamed from COPD or asthma. This inflammation causes the inner walls of the airways to swell and become thicker.

The muscles around the airways also tighten and constrict, further narrowing them.
All of this makes it difficult for air to flow through when you breathe. This is when you might start to experience breathing problems and uncomfortable symptoms like coughing, wheezing, or being out of breath.

And over time, it can really feel like your symptoms are standing in the way of your everyday life. But if you’ve been feeling this way, you can make a change.

Now is the time to take action and ask your doctor about TRELEGY.

ANNOUNCER:
The first medicine is called an ICS, which stands for inhaled corticosteroid. Over time, it reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways to allow more air to flow through.

ANNOUNCER:
The second medicine is called a LABA, or long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist. It relaxes the muscles around your airways to help open them further.

ANNOUNCER:
And then there’s a third medicine in TRELEGY called a LAMA, or long-acting muscarinic antagonist. This medicine blocks the tightening of muscles around your airways to help keep them open, allowing even more air to flow through.
